Access to Collections
All holders of Xi’an Polytechinc University Library cards, including registered students, faculty, staff and affiliates, may borrow books from the Library.
All readers with library cards can enter the circulation stacks to choose books. All books must be checked out at the circulation desk. Readers’ bags and books can not be brought into the circulation stacks and reading rooms. Lockers are available.
All Reading room? periodicals, reference books and special collections do not circulate and must be used in special collections reading rooms.


Loan period
Readers are responsible for all materials checked out until the books are returned. The staff at the circulation desk in the library can explain specific borrowing guidelines and fine policies if you want to learn more. Generally, loan periods are as follows: Undergraduates: 60 day loans Graduates : 60 day loans Faculty: 90 day loans The maximum number of items that may be checked out on your record are as follows: Undergraduates: 6 items Graduates and Faculty: 12 items .


Renewals
Renewal requests can be taken by phone, or readers may renew books online by using My Library option of the library integrated system. Books may also be renewed by presenting them at the circulation desk in the library. Please remember each title can be renewed only once.


Reserves
If you want to get the book that someone else has checked out, you may reserve it. Reserve requests can be taken by phone or online by using My library option of the library integrated system. You will be notified once the book is returned. The returned book will be reserved for you to pick up within 5 day.


Overdue Fines
The borrower is responsible for the return or renewal of the book on or before the due date. Fines are assessed beginning the first day an item becomes overdue at the rate of ¥0.10 per day per title. Please be aware that all library books must be returned on time.


Losses:  
According to library rules, the readers must pay for any loss or damage to items they borrowed.
